First a little about hair extensions:
There are many ways of applying hair extensions. The term extensions are referred to any technique used to add volume, length or color.
Permanent Extensions
For many years stylists have offered weave and weft, hand tie, and strand by strand fusion, which require thread, wax, glue guns, or heated elements for their installation. Aside from many stylists experiencing burned finger tips through these installation methods called hot fusion, the client’s hair is also left damaged. These particular application methods are known to cause breakage to the natural hair and possibly lead to hair loss and balding. Breakage comes from using heated elements in conjunction with waxes or glues, which are fused onto the hair. The hair becomes weak internally. Therefore, when the bond is removed the client’s hair is left in a fragile state and then breaks off. PURE EXTENSIONS USE NO HEAT or FUSION.
What’s more is that hair extensions that are not properly maintained every 4 to 6 weeks may lead to even greater problems such as: skin disorders, fungal growth, and scalp disorders. In short, permanently fused extensions that remain attached to the hair for months, may unknowingly allow moisture to penetrate internally. This contributes to fungus and spreads to the scalp, which may cause scalp disorders and permanent hair loss. PURE EXTENSIONS ARE EASILY ADJUSTED EVERY 4 TO 6 WEEKS.
Manufacturers have tried to combat these negative aspects associated with the term hot fusion by establishing a new method name called cold fusion. Do not be fooled by the new term used to cover up these bonding methods called cold fusion. In most cases the term cold fusion is used to perform the same wax or glue method of installation that is just as damaging as the method called hot fusion. The only difference between these two terms is in the type of heat being administered to the hair. Cold fusion guns use the same type of heat as a microwave. The wax bond is heated from the inside and moves toward the outside. Even though this prevents the stylists fingertips from being burned , this so-called “cold fusion” applies the same amount of damaging heat to the natural hair and remains very costly both to the client and the stylist. The only true method of cold fusion is our Pure extension cylinder method. PURE EXTENSIONS DOES NOT USE WAX OR GLUE.

As hair is constantly growing the client is advised to visit every 4-6 weeks for maintenance and with our cylinder method every connection is inspected, opened and replenished. Semi-Permanent Extensions
Known to most stylists as taping or sticking, this method promises to last anywhere from 8 to 10 weeks. However, due to the fact that today’s client prefers to shampoo their hair very frequently, the estimated time is much less, which means the client has to spend more money to continually purchase new extensions. By the end of the year, the cost spent to keep hair extensions is tremendous! Even though this offers a healthier alternative to installation methods than that of permanent extensions, (causes less stress to the natural hair), it has its fallouts. Literally, this method can lead to embarrassing situations such as falling out in public.
Temporary Extensions
Clip in hair extensions are the safest way for in home applications and stylist who are not certified extension artists. They may also create volume length or color. Always advise clients this is a temporary method and must be removed at night or before sleeping. If not they will also contribute to breakage where the clip connects to the natural hair. The longer the hair the heavier. Make sure the hair clip is secure to avoid embarrassing issues such as slipping.
